Wow! SINGLE.... after 5 1/2 years, I am single. Back on the dating scene... sooooo weird. I haven't been single since I was 18 and in high school. This is such a bitter-sweet situation for me. Bitter because I was in love. I had planned to spend the rest of my life with him. I was happy (or what I thought was happy), 51/2 years is a long time to be with someone! I loved his family, and I truly wanted to be a part of his life forever, I was secure in that feeling.
Well, now for the sweet part, I AM SINGLE! I am free to do whatever I want, whenever I want to do it. I have a weight lifted off my shoulders! I don't have to worry about my b/f not having a job or trying to find a job. I now have the opportunity to find someone who gives as much as I give to the relationship, and someone who appreciates me. Ahhhh I am free!
So even though my life seems to be spinning out of control right before my eyes, I am able to stop and appreciate the little things. I can take a step back and realize how much of life has passed me by, and now I can live for ME and not a relationship!

Well you seem like you are pretty positive about the whole situation! Being single is not a bad thing, it is fun and it definitely nice to be able to do what you want to do and not worry about anyone else. Keep your head up girl!

ReplyDelete5 1/2 years is forever girl, my ex and I were together 3 yrs which in hindsight lasted a little too long. But I've been single for over a year now and absolutely love it- my guy friends give me all the male attention I need and I truly value my independence.....The majority of us will spend the rest of our adult life in a relationship, so lets enjoy ourselves now.
i really give you proops for being such a positive person after ending a relationship of 5 1/2 years. i have been with my boyfriend for 9 years and it's scary to picture my life without him but if we ever break up at least i know that being single can be a good thing.
