A-D-V-I-S-E-R
Whatever! Here at CSUMB I have become totally aware that it is a truly hands-off, help-yourself kind of place. So, I am continuing my journey to graduate school without the help of my adviser who's only words of advise were "its hard". HAHAHAHA whats the point of having that title???
So this was supposed to be a lazy day??
Anyways, back to my view that I should have a lazy day.... today is Sunday, and I thought Ahhh today will be my lazy day. So to kick off my lazy day I spent the night at my grandmother's beach house (Sat night) in Capitola so I could start off my lazy day hearing the waves crash.... nice right....
Well, then I got home.... and I think that is where the idea of my lazy day kinda fell off the wagon. The dog needed food, the laundry REALLY needed to be done, the treadmill was staring at me, and oh yeah... Hello, I have a shit load of homework to do (Thank you Berteaux for your daunting Philosophy tests)!!!!!!!!!
Here I sit, 1 trip to target (dog food) done, boyfriend making me dinner, after 3 hours of homework, I am almost done, the treadmill is still staring (I will hop on later...maybe), and a nice cold very yummy vodka/pomegranate mixed drink in hand (it helps with the creative process) :)
Well, my lazy day didn't quite pan out the way I anticipated, but all in all it was a good day. I hope all of you have at least one lazy day you can truly be LAZY... we all deserve it!
My Rsponse to Barack Obama and the Noble Lie
The thought of a noble lie is a good one, seemingly harmless, a noble lie saves people from worry, and helps people be put at ease in stressful situations. Deepak Chopra suggests that president Barack Obama tell the American people a noble lie to help our economic situation, and boost morale. I fully support Deepak’s suggestion for President Obama to tell a noble lie.
When I think of a noble lie in the way Deepak suggests it for Pres. Obama, I don’t think of it as a “lie”, I think of it as positive thinking, and hope. Right now we are faced with media fueled worry about a downward spiraled economy, foreclosures, job losses, government IOUs, and piled high credit. The American people are simply running out of options; we need help.
When Pres. Obama was elected and throughout his campaign, he promised change, hope and a sense of security. In order for President Obama to grab a hold of the American psyche, he needs to continue to build our hope and tell us that everything is going to be OK. I do not view this as a lie, I view it as providing the American people with hope and a light at the end of a dark eight year tunnel.
An outward lie in comparison to a noble lie is much worse. An outward lie is told to withhold information purposefully from someone else to gain power or save face. An outward lie requires other lies to help hold up the original lie. Also, a lie can come in so many forms from a “white lie” to a bold hurtful lie. A noble lie on the other hand I view as harmless. A noble lie is told when there are no other options left, and the outlook is grim. To help lessen the blow, a noble lie is told so people don’t get slammed with the awful truth. Instead, people are told a more hopeful truth, and given something to look forward to. In the case of President Obama, essentially has been telling noble lies throughout his campaign as do most people running for any type of election. They don’t walk into an election telling you that yes, they might mess up, and no, things won’t happen right away, or that things may not go as planned or promised, but hey they will give it a shot. NO! Throughout the process of a campaign candidates are putting their best foot forward and promising to make things happen and promote change. No one knows for sure if any of the things promised by the candidates are truly going to happen or not, but people have to trust that there is some truth behind their words. President Obama has done just this throughout his campaign and should continue to boost the morale of the American people throughout his term as President, it is his duty to us.

Graduation... May 2009
:( AHHHHHHH!!!!! So, I don't know about anyone else, but it is pretty hard to find a "big girl" job that pays "big girl" money in today's economy.
I feel like I have spent the past 6 years (yes, it took me 6 years to get my AA and BA) busting my ass for a degree that once i have it, I won't be able to use it right away! This has just been on my mind all week, and I was wondering if anyone else was in a similar position??
With all that said though, I am very excited to be graduating and I just hope writing my Capstone won't give me toooo much of a headache :) Happy Graduation to everyone who will be there May 16th!
